What should the ignition timing settings be for a 390 SE ?

I want to check the timing and just wondered what the ignition timing should be please for a 390 SE ?

6-8 degrees BTDC with vacuum disconnected as a start point, should i bring my timing gun on Sat if you want a quick look?
