I've been a wedge fan since casting my eyes on my best mates brothers car in 1986. I parted with my S just before emigrating down under in 2007. I've just purchased by first wedge, a 350i from East Anglia Motor Company, which I will be importing under Australia's pre 1989 rule. As wedge parts are rare in OZ I would prefer to buy any "must have" parts before I ship the car. As engines are based on the Chevy V8 and as as the Aussies love their V8 I should be OK for mechanicals. Any suggestions on trim or running gear parts I should stock up on or have replaced before she makes the trip.

Firstly welcome to Wedge World and i'm sure you'll enjoy ever minute of it.
As for spares who knows what you'll need until it happens, the engines are quite roburst. If needing any advice on anything then the guy's on here are excellent with any question asked.
There is another Wedger down under - Oz2 - Adam, very nice chap.

Not quite, the Rover V8 is based on a Buick engine design but you've got a great RV8 resource down there in these guys.

They also race a Tuscan Challenge car.

Yes my old SX is down under with Adam Oz2, being very well looked after. I am sure Simboy's 390se headed that way also.

Thanks for the great tip V8 GRF. I was worrying about parts availability over here. I might start looking for a Triumph Herald in import!!!

Given Carob's insider info and as a newby, does anyone have any idea how I can track down and make "friends" with Oz2???

What's going on - you Aussies are starting to rival the Dutch! Well I spose Oz was called "New Holland" a few years ago - that might explain it a little ;^)

I actually missed out on a v nice 350 a few weeks ago in the ph classifieds which was purchased with euros by someone called Klaus. I was upset at the time. At least the main language in OZ is English so she'll feel at home but with a bit more sun on her boot, bonnet and badge.
