350i alternator type/size/amperage?
Discussion
The 350i alternator is not charging and even though it may be just the diodes (the brushes are fine) I dont have the time to sort it out before BBWF and what with working away during the week and weekends spent playing with the kids I only really have 16 days left to get it done!
There are no markings at all on the alternator, so Im not sure on what output of model type I need, is there a standard type? (I know its a stupid question because its a TVR)
Hopefully I can get one ordered from fleabay today and have it here ready fro next weekend!

Stu it's best to get one of the heavy duty alternators I changed my standard 55 amp one for a 75 amp one. They are standard Rover ones but be very careful about the orientation of mounting points and the type of connectors on the rear. I would take it off and take it to one of our local factors and do it exchange. You will pay something close to £100 for a good one but that way you get a guarantee fella! By the way the Alpina is not for sale! There is a place in Gravesend near the clock tower or Big M in Meopham might be open today

Hi Stu..Just had a look in the "Bible" and it states typically a LUCAS A133-65 which is a 65amp, It does advise that you check the length of the alternator as it is possible that it could also have NI-70A?...I did a quick search but only a couple but you will have to do a bit more digging..I suppose another option is refurbing your old unit..Cheers..Ziga
