Wheres the "wee man" post gone?
Discussion
Sorry it has been removed, why was it removed? because the rule of posting no. 16 clearly states that you may not:-
Promote charity events or recruit for charitable donations.
Your thread is probably the third charity thread that has been removed today.
If you wish to post a thread promoting or recruiting for chartable donations you must first gain the approval from Haymarket.
It's never an easy call to remove a thread of this nature but we are heavily criticised by members if we do not moderate these types of thread with some form of consistency across the board.
For future reference a mail to Garlick in the first instance may just swing the scales in your favour.
HTH explain.

Well it was only at the very end that we discussed putting the "change" towards charity, the main thrust of the thread is to gather donations for the trophy in his memory, and that certainly is not being done as a charity, it's a commercial arrangement to purchase a trophy.
Perhaps we could just delete the last two posts to the thread and reinstate it as I'm sure there could be more wedgers coming forward if the thread was allowed to stay.
Thanks for your consideration.

This sounds a good idea and is fair to everyone,Simons memory means alot to the wedge guys.Perhaps we could just delete the last two posts to the thread and reinstate it as I'm sure there could be more wedgers coming forward if the thread was allowed to stay.

go on Al

All seems a bit harsh as we were not promoting a charity but offering to donate to one...Will try not to mention the "C" word again..It would be cool to reinstate up to the point mentioned as it is to commemorate someones passing...It would be a kind gesture..Thanks mods for being understanding..Ziga

OK been chatting to Garlick and he has asked me to inform you that as this is for a late PH'er then he will ensure that an official PH home page is run in honour to him.
Could either Mark or Andy contact Paul directly with the relevant information.

This must be a really fine line and brave judgement call; there was a recent thread reporting the absolutely tragic death of Claire Squires which could be viewed as leading readers to make a charitable donation. Probably chalk and cheese examples but these are both sad losses nonetheless and I think readers should decide whether to donate, not moderators (or parent organisations) judge what information is available effectively on a public generated forum.Promote charity events or recruit for charitable donations.

Great to hear that you have given this further consideration.
