My previous 450SE used to have flames visible out of the exhaust when driving through a tunnel, because it's dark and is more visible. Friends following me always used to tell me about the exhaust flames when the engine pops and bangs on the down revs.

I've got some photos I took of a Wedge with bigger flames coming out of the back than that Fezza, I'll try and dig them out.

Here's a Cerbera I caught on video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iiW4OhsIYa0&fea...

Kev. , thanks for that , excellent stuff , how is yours regarding flames out the back. By the way its good to see you've got time to see what we are up to on here , I would have gone to Chatters if it had been slightly less wet !!

Martin , that is flippin awsome !! I think we need a 'conference' at the fest to investigate methods of producing flames and popping from the wedge exhaust system , maybe wedge1e can help amongst other 'experts' .

I love Wedges Steve, so I pop in here now and again.
Couldn't blame anyone for not going to Chatsworth this year, boy was it wet.
When I get on computer I'll post photo of flames (if I can find them)

I can get flames from the Flapper 400SE, also get flames on the racer, and that's running an emerald.

I get flames and LOTS of noise from my 400SE. the hotter the weather, the more flames .. On over run, change down to get the revvs above 4000, and just tap the throttle as she dies ... lots of flames smile

just ask anyone that has followed me hehe

Lol i wasnt expecting to see a thread like this in a TVR section of a car forum.

Flames are caused buy the timing and overfulling. The engine is not burning all of the fuel its taken in and pushing it out of the exhaust.

The vid with the yellow car is very very wrong. Maybe something has been shoved in the exhaust for it to flame like that.

If anything you should get a tiny burst of a flame when you lift off.

Flames are caused by under fueling which is why you get them on the overrun or when swapping cogs, if its was over fueling you would be driving round with a flame out of you arse like a jet with an afterburner. The lean mixture as you come off the throttle does not burn in the cylinders and hits the hot exhaust and ignites.

My 350 is known to flame occasionally on the overrun, but personally I've never seen it myself.

Although I'd quite like to find an engine like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GYHwDEFhVDc , I've no idea if it flames or not, but what a noise!!!
