Rack end removal 390se
Discussion
ConfusedI am in the process of removing the rack end but find that it refuses to budge from the rack.
It isn't seized as there is a slight movement.
I am aware of a 3ml drill hole on the fixing but doesn't look as if it is the end of a pin.
Any ideas before i apply the usual force where something may break.
Thanks

You mean the securing cap on the end of the rack that keeps the track rod in place? It usually has a screwed locking ring. Once the correct pre-load is applied, you drill a hole at the joint between the cap and lock ring and hammer in a pin.It isn't seized as there is a slight movement.

In my experience of Wedge racks, the lock ring is often welded to the cap and needs slitting with a grinder to get them apart.
