Hi

As promised the trophy has now been organised.

Adam and myself had considered a hand made (Machine cut) model of a wedge in alli, suitable mounted. With a smaller version for the yearly winners.
A company (Known by Adam) was approached drawing and pics were provided but they didn't seam to be really interested. So I went to plan B

We have now ordered a 3D image of a "Wedge" inside a clear block 160 x 115 x 80mm
With The inscription on/in it:

The "wee man" Trophy
In Memory of Simon "wee man" Longworth
1966 - 2012
Awarded to the Wedge Personality of Year

This year the actual winner will receive a Large Stern Tankard inscibed with the above but with 2012 added at the end!

We hope you all aprove of this.

We still need futher donations for this so if you wish to help remember Simon please send us your donation.

Andy

Gav gave me a tenner to donate to this as he doesn't have PayPal.

Can someone tell me what email address I need to send it to?

Thanks, The Chimp.

Hi

Well I can show you the 3D proof of the trophy!

We hope you approve, the actual trophy will look even better if the Tankard is to go by against its proof.

Unfortunately we don't yet have a base for it as we don't have enough funds or confirmed design for that yet!
A wooden, alli or Stainless base are favourite, which the trophy can sit in and the yearly winners names can then be engraved on that!

Andy - I'm sure we can sort something out for the base - we have the technology...

The base could be a nice slab of walnut or oak with a little removable plate for inscribing..If you need a finished piece of wood i can ask the furniture restorers near me but will need accurate measurements, He will french polish it as well, Plus he wont charge the earth..Ziga

Yes we have the technology but not the money!

When the trophy arrives it can be measured and a sutiable base and design can be quoted for and then organised when enough funds are available!

Hi peeps..I have been round to the furniture restorers and he can make a base from walnut with an inlaid brass quadrant on the top edge and a flat facing brass edge on the bottom..French polished for 50 sobs...OR..I have just phoned the antique fireplace company were i used to work and they are looking around for a piece of either black granite or nero marble..(Black with white fissures)..It will probably be a cheaper option..(Probably a drink)..Is it possible to have some measurements so that if they have a piece it can be checked for size and possibly cut..How thick do you want it?..50mm?..Hope this helps...Ziga

The trophy is still being made, so I can't give the measurements.

Anyway I have been asked to do it so I am sorting it my self.

It's going to be the last thing I am doing for the forum. Due to being so ps off by PH, yet again an item has been removed or moved!

I intend to have a nice piece of Stainless or alli suitably shaped!

It's not going to be a piece of memoral stone from a grave on the cheap. It's the least I can do for the memory of Simon!

Ok Andy..Only trying to help...Besides the black nero marble isnt cheap..I was thinking of something that wouldnt need to be cleaned too much, More of a wipe over with a cloth..Nay worries...Ziga

PS: I went through a spate of having threads removed and even ended up in the naughty room to renounce my behaviour or be banned indefinately...Dont worry about it too much..Concerntrate on getting well!!

I was in the naughty room on Sat.
But that with other issues going on means that I am not having anything more to do with the forum etc after the fest. It's my person decision as I feel that I have been wasting my time as people don't like my way of doing things and they just ignore post and other things.

Hi

The Trophy arrived this morning and I am very pleased with it, even better than I hoped.

A pic on here would not do it justices so you will be able to see it on display at the info point at the fest!
