What's THIS for??? And a few other questions.
Discussion
I've lost a lot of photos and notes I took regarding my car - laptop crashed a couple years ago - so I'm sorry to have to ask a bunch of questions all over again.
Where the heck does this hose go to/ come from? If memory serves me well the plenum had some sort of water heating for cold weather?

Is there anything better than Cortina shocks (dampers?) for the front? Part number?
Which end is IN for the fuel pump, the end with the wires or the opposite?
Torque specs for the half-shafts to rear wheel hubs?
I need a complete alignment... camber/castor/toe-in?
TIA.
I really missed the you guys and the wedge world...
Mike

Hi Mate..The fuel pump should have a directional arrow on it but i think its in at the terminal end..
Hope this helps..

Settings for aligment as given to me by a fellow wedger.
Here are the generic settings for all Wedges:
The tracking should be set at 3.2mm toe-in +/- 1.5mm
Caster: 3.5 - 4.0 deg. pos.
Camber (F) 1.0 deg. neg.
Camber (R) 1.0 - 1.5 deg. neg.
Toe (in) (F) 0.50 deg.
Toe (in) (R) 2MM - don't know why MM not deg!
2mm on 15inch rims = 0.30 degrees = 18 minutes
2mm on 17inch rims = 0.27 degrees = 16 minutes
Either way it's just a smidge toe in.
15 inch rims 3.2mm toe gives 0.24 degrees wheel to vehicle center-line or 0.48 degrees wheel to wheel.
14 inch rims 3.2mm toe gives 0.26 degrees wheel to vehicle center-line or 0.52 degrees wheel to wheel.
For the front
toe is 3.2 +/- 1.5mm
camber is 0 +/- 1.2 degres (not adjustable anyway is it?)
caster is 31.2 +/- 0.5 degrees
KPI 6 degrees (Not sure what this is?
For the rear
toe is 4.5mm
camber is 0.5 +/- 0.5 degrees (this seems small as the wheels have a visible camber)
Hope this helps..

I use my thumbnail for the spark gap - it's just right.
Rear hub nut torque (the big nut) is high - 220lbf for new bearings.
My torque wrench only goes up to 200 but I don't use 220 when re-torquing old bearings either, since I had one fail soon after reassembly, I usually use around 150 or so. Don't forget the split pins.

That's exactly what it is, the heater for the throttle body. They're not connected on my S and I'm not very familiar with the cooling system on a wedge so not really sure exactly where the pipes would go on your car, the disco service manual says the feed (circled in your photo) comes from the inlet manifold and the return goes to the top of the radiator.
What you marked up is one of the pipes for the plenum heater that is linked to the water system, great for a landrover in minus 10 but not to great for a wedge when you want to feed the engine nice cold dence air, you can by pass it and take it off the plenum and black off the holes, you could see a few gegees with out running it and also be able to take off the rocker cover to.
