88 degree
82 degree
76 degree

You decide!

The one in there was a piece of st and was stuck fully open, this had obviously been changed recently looking at all the crap around the housing.

Im now thinking that when the car was serviced prior to me getting it, it was in fact sent to a noddy!

The dizzy cap being 180 degrees out, the timing all over the place, the air filter blocked, Im now thinking an oil change will also be in order.

Any suggestions for that?
the engine is on 95k and the oil light flickers at low revs, so I was thinking a good semi 20/50

Any thoughts on the above?

Use the 88 degree stat for winter driving and the 82 degree stat for summer driving.

A good quality oil - stay near to 20w/50 as it works best.

A good oil that I have used is
