Mine says fan but I can't see it does anything!

On mine (350i) there's an LED for the alarm, in a hole presumably drilled into the blank.

Mine does nothing at the moment!
It's got a red glazed section at the bottom and it has a light bulb "pushed" into the top of it, to illuminate it (bit of a bodge by the looks of things!)
Mind you, so far I've found 3 alarms and immobilisers cut into the loom (so they're staying) none of which work :-(
I'm trying to get my car ready for the Fest, so as part of that I'm tracing cables & generally working on the electrickery on the car.
At the moment this switch has got two aftermarket cables running to the main fuse box in the glovebox, one red and one black, relatively large diameter cables, I wondered if it was a switch for an electric aerial or an isolator / home made immobiliser?
I'll be looking at it over the weekend and if I find out where they go and what they do, I'll let you know.

Mine is the over-ride for the cooling fan! Done by a previous owner!! I only found out when was checking things out one day and wondered what the switch with no label was for!! Handy modification I think and have used it quite often.
