What is this "Lucas" device ???
The engine runs better when not connected !
The fuel injection stops brutally when I press sudenly the gas pedal...
I need to close the contact and restart the engine when iut happens.
Trying to restart the engine simply by using the speed and the clutch does not work...
Any idea ???

I presume you mean the throttle pot (potentiometer) if it is not working correctly ensure the connector block and associated wires are in good order. Check with a decent multimeter that there is a nice smooth rise of voltage when the accelerator (gas) pedal is depressed. There is a lot of info available on line do a search for Rover EFi systems fella

Throttle pot 100%

Sounds like you need a new one so i'd measure it like mentioned before.

It looks like a big one - the big ones can be taken apart and refurbished - will last another 10k miles or so.

or they can also be taken apart, looked at, twiddled with, well and truly broken, thrown accross the workshop, and replaced with the newer 2 bolt type that are readily available!

www.rockinghorsest.com
for the one you currently have, so I would suggest you get a meter on the outputs first and check that there is a good even rise in the voltages.

If not I can talk you through how to put a newer one on if you come to the fest!
