quote from autocar -

While TVR have given up car production, the name will live on in Smolensky's new venture which aims to build portable wind turbines.

Why? PW did a business deal, he walked away with £££ in his pocket. End of story. If he wanted to retain rights he wouldn't have sold up.

Thought I read somewhere that Smolensky's father was one of several Russians in high positions within State organisations who, when the USSR broke up, simply walked into their offices and declared themselves in charge of whatever they'd been in charge of before... only now the State didn't get the profits.
He then gave his son a sh!tload of money and told him to waste it wisely.
Allegedly wink

Hardly a surprise though. Once it shut down on Blackpool (or the way it was) TVR was dead anyway. Didn't matter who owned it as such as long as the designs kept coming out of a quirky factory a tad odd and they still relied on selling the cars to customers do product testing.

I guess that gives us carte blanche to reproduce any factory literature and wedge design information, e.g. the parts manual, any service literature etc etc...

Errr no. TVR hasn't gone, the trademarks and everything else is still owned by NS, so technically you would still be infringing trademarks, ip etc although I doubt anyone would come after you.

Designwise the design is long out of protection.

Just to clarify with respect to the parts manual - I scanned them and gained permission from TVRCarparts for distribution who had bought the rights from TVR. (Guees I should really contact CWR now as well!)

Does this mean we will need a wind turbine section in here then ?

Just for owners to discuss design features and we can just say "yes they all do that"

What a muppet silly

He's based in Vienna and his 'people' are frequently in the UK and I believe his solicitor is UK based.

Like I said unlikely but it's best not to publicise things smile
