The heater valve is not quite right. could some one post or send me a picture of theres. I think there is somthing missing because the outer cable support is not fixed to anything.

I will get to work on all these samall issues

If its anything like the early ones, there is meant to be a spring clip holding the outer to the valve, it clips into the small rectangular hole by where the inner cable attaches to the valve.

As requested i'll try and take some photos. (I need to make a list of all these promises i've made for photos before i upset someone!)

I was playing with mine earlier and it looked like a cable tie or lock wire would do the job of holding the outer if the clip has disapeared.

On my car and most I have seen the outer cable does act as the suppoort - as you describe. The valve also fits fairly close to the bulkhead so the pipe also supports.
Always seems like there is a bracket missing - but "there all like that".
