its an easy run from kent just hop across the water and takes aronud 5 hours, there's a caterham that comes with us and needs to fill up every 100miles so there's a few fuel stops (and weak bladders lol), french and belgium roads are shockingly bumpy and boring but once into the father land the roads and scenery are great.
we stay in a little place about 2 miles from the ring http://www.gasthaus-weber.de/ each person gets 2 x nights, 2 x breakfast, 2 x evening meals and about 5 pints each evening (i think....gets a bit fuzzy after 4 pints for me lol) and it only costs 110euros which is about £86!!! its a great place, great home made food, full of petrol heads from all over the place (car park full of M5's, RS2's, Porsches, RS Cosworth's ..........etc). you'll have to share a room with your passenger so take someone who doesn't snore or pretty!! lol

4 laps for the track is 95 euro's which is more than enough for me but if your heart can take it you can buy more!! there's lots of viewing points to go watch the loonies and idiots going around or in some cases straight into things but unlike rip off britain you don't get charged for parking and a portion of frites is only about 2 euros

i split ferry and fuel with passenger

in all i spent 300 euro's plus £50 for ferry ...........about £285 all in. ITS GREAT FUN AND AMAZING.

now for the serious bit!!! it is the most intense and scariest place you'll drive and yes things could go wrong, it is a one way public toll road and thus subject to normal driving laws in germany, if you crash or cause an accident you will be liable to prosecution and also charges to damage to track and downtime of the track. drive at a pace that suits you, you might have a quick car but trust me there'll be someone more skilled than you in shopping trolley that knows the circuit and will make you look stupid (youtube Ring Mini http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bGDFRXewdB4&fea... ), always over take on the left, if someone is coming up behind you fast then indicate and pull to the right, unless your mid corner then keep your line till safe to let them by (they will sit right up your arse but only because they know you not about to suddenly stop for a set of lights or try and parallel park!!) and check your vehicle before gong out (dropping oil on track will not please bikers!!). if you can go with someone who's been before then that always good, go around as a passenger first and just get an idea of what to expect. oh yes almost forgot don't pull up to barrier without buying ticket first, you will look a dick as everyone watches you try and reverse back through the traffic when they send you back to the car park!! lol, its is a cross between motoring porn and mayhem in the car park with everyone trying to park, come off the track and on track all in 2 small car parks but spaces come up quickly with everyone going on and off just park up go get a ticket and check out all the awesome motors!
i'm lucky and go out with a few guys who have been going for about 15yrs, i don't know it all but check out here for some good advice:

ps. don't let this put you off too much its an amazing weekend!

Looking great!

Good to hear it made it there and back successfully too. First couple of times mine went out, it came back on a low-loader. Nothing too nasty though and ADAC cover is top notch, I would recommend it to anyone heading to europe.

Jimbo - get the Photobucket app. Upload to photobucket (use WIFI though or else it'll cost ya!)

Then you can get the [img] code from the uploaded photo and put it in any PH post. Simples!
