rad advice please chaps
Discussion
It's a few years since I last took one out, but I don't think I had to remove the under spoiler. Probably worth removing the bonnet though, which is very straightforward, as it gives much improved access to everything. Obviously the oil cooler needs to be removed from the rad (no disconnecting the oil lines though)and the fan shroud needs to come off otherwise you'll not get the rad out the bottom.
I would go for a three core conversion, and get rid of the ridiculous temp sender /otter switch and replace it with a soldered / brazed (?) boss and a proper screw in temp sensor. Got mine done in Kent, so not much use to you in Norfolk.

just remembered the name of the place in Norwich that does rad repairs. Not sure if its where motofacts sends them and where mine went but you could try Serck Marston...

I think mine cost something silly like £35 to repair.

Jim,I'm part way through doing mine on my 350i,not sure how much a 450 differs from mine but its much easier on mine with the front jacked up high and supported on axle stands, only four nuts/bolts holding spoiler on plus a couple of light connectors. Berkshire radiator services had a new uprated core on the shelf so he s done that for me and added a 22mm npt boss to the header for a threaded otter switch instead of the old sprung clip arrangment,£168.00 all in,got a new switch from David Gerald.
The updated core is a response to the bloody things rupturing in the corners frequently as they are mounted on a body that flexes, plus it has more water pipes running horizontally. It was that or an ally one for around £430.00.
I ended up removing the angle brackets the rad sits in ans the bolts for those secure through to the pop up light recess,so with the lights in up position and battery disconnected you cab get ya hand through the access holes to reach the bolt heads, have added some diagonal bracing rods to try and offer extra solution to flexing, fingers crossed, nothing else happening at mo till I can afford new fans and nor at work at present.
Wooly.
