Never had a motor with an oil pressure gauge, when the engine is at running temp, sitting idling at 850rpm what pressure should be showing?
I sit at 0.5 bar, of course it increases when revd but is this low normal?

Hi mate..As someone said on here once.."Low oil pressure is better than No oil pressure"..Mine sometimes sits at the bottom of the gauge until revved..It should read 38lbs at 2000rpm, sometimes a bit higher but its not unusual...If you change the oil go for the larger type filter..Have you sorted that metering head cover yet?..Ziga

Hi zig. the pressure does go up to about 30, never been higher, no matter how hard i push it. but its only been out for two decent runs so i'll see how it goes. 0.5 lbs at idle does seem pretty low to me tho.

Before the oil pipe feeding the guage split I was getting about 45 lbs at idle (cold) didn't seem to drop much when warm either tho didn't get much of a chance to look as the pipe went on first run out. Very scary oil all over the engine bay Inc a nice hot exhaust . Maybe youve hot a sticking oil pressure relief valve ?
