Looks like you have used the foil tape, I have used that even though i have a roll of proper heat proof insulation...Since i got rid of the ole vinyl covered foam from the under bonnet the air flows much better over the engine...Ziga

Not sure about the 350 but i can definitely feel the hot air escaping from my bonnet vents at the front end now..I will have to remove the vent box on the bulkhead that takes in air for the heater so the supercharger pipework can fit so i was thinking maybe incorporate a small fan inside the box under the top vent on the underside of the bonnet to extract heat..
My original vinyl backed foam insulation was hanging down and hindering airflow over the engine..I could always feed some air duct pipe from the nosecone to the engine..Ziga

Once Zig straps in that supercharger his under bonnet temperature is going to go through the roof so some extra airflow will come in useful smile

The Scrutineers was not happy about those mods and they had to fill them back in, so not sure a MOT centre would like them either.

Yes, I remember the driver at Cadwell telling me that Leigh (possible fire risk as far as race regs were concerned).

Not sure about MOT though, as you do see 'street rods' with no bonnet at all...just a mahoosive exposed V8. I used to own one.

Anyway, I'm sure there are plenty of other ways of getting more cool air under the bonnet...just depends how far you're willing to stray from original spec, but a highly modified bonnet could easily be replaced with an original spec one when selling on.

Im thinking of modifying mine with a bonnet scoop but possibly also some small 12v computer fans housed under either front vents or top vent and extracting the heat out..Excuse the crude drawing but you get the idea...Ziga

I'm going for a front scoop that goes down to the rad, to stop the hot rad air going over the engine. this is on the racer, but maybe a little extreme for a road car.
I'm going to make it a removable in-case it falls fail of the silhouette rules.

I'm also removing my air scoop, but making the bulge bigger, and having a larger opening, with a lip for positive air pressure.
