scratchchin Series 1 bodyshell on a 'Y' plate...? Hmmm.....

From the height of the water pump that's a Range Rover engine.

Looks good that, strange setup with the exhausts, coming fowards, almost like it started life as a 2.8 and then a V8 added later. Along the lines of Leighs racer ?

What an interesting car. scratchchin

Well of course the S1s were all 2.8s (or 2 litres ?), but also had the narrower chassis rails...probably the reason for the exhaust re-routing.

If I had the money to hand I'd be having a look at that. smile

Wonder what brakes it has got.

My ideal car. Series 1 FHC with a V8! Love it.

Is it just me or does the engine look a bit further forward in the bay than real 350's? You can see a lot of gearbox.

That's because it started life with a Pinto under the bonnet. That's a 200 bodyshell, single petrol filler with a flap. Mine is a Y plate too.

Must admit I always thought the 200s had S2 shells. I know one or two of the factory demo cars were sold off some years after they were made with S1 shells so gained later plates (GrahamW had one of them for a while on an 'A' reg.), thought this might have been one of them.
