its time to re- spray my 280i ,after 26 years it needs some love , car is running good now (thanks to you guys )the car is cream right now , but in 2 weeks will be bright white , have any of you guys seen a rag top with a glass rear window , it makes it more time consuming to lower the top ,but it looks great with glass there , would like to send you some pictures but it just doesn't want to bloody load , will keep trying

Hey Mr Ziga , its has a zip around the glass , so its that bit slower to drop ,but seems worth the effort, don't know if it was factory or aftermarket , its made really well , i haven't seem any others, by the way where did you get your rubber air intake hose as my plastic original one is crap ,cant seem to find anything to work , across the pond ...cheers

Hi Mate..I see..A zip..Its most likely after market as there are zips on quite a few cars..BMW..MG..Wrangler jeep..Although im not sure they had glass rear windows...The silicone air intake hose was purchased at AP Motorstore..76mm 90 degree elbow.

I did cut the ends off i think about 50-60mm and then used some 3 inch stainless steel exhaust pipe as a joiner as the bends on the 90 degree didnt line up properly..Hope this helps..cheers..Ziga

Who needs a window with the hood down ? biggrin

A front like this would be handy for accessing the oily bits though. smile

Bob can you get some more pics of the inside and the zip area? Also pics of when it's folded down - ta. Looks interesting.

Unfortunately I have the very last one of these front ends, due to the mould being lost in a fire last year.

but be looking into getting a new mould made again next year, also tempted to make it from a 400SE as I think the 400SE front looks better and is a bit wider.

Got to agree about the flared arch look. smile

I suppose the rears would need modding too to match up though.
