I dont think there is any thing wrong with finding out the limits of your wedge and drifting is good fun but ive seen some one in a chimp and they were lacking in talent so the instructor had a go and the car was crap at the job, im sure it could be set up but its for folk with plenty of dosh.
I would be a same to think some of these chaps with deeper pockets and newer cars may think about the older more classic tivs for messing about, if they were to do that look at getting a chalange car and have it set up properly or as you said Graham stick with the cheep tintop boxes and dont demise the tvr numbers just because they can aford too....

I've never seen the point in drifting as a 'pursuit'. I mean... why? What does it prove? You have more torque than the tyres can handle? Big bloody deal, I get that in my Connect van virtually every time I pull away. I used to slide a 1056cc Skoda Estelle round roundabouts on full opposite lock with my mates on board and the tyres smoking, I didn't need 500BHP, turbo and nitrous to do it.

Erm yes, and I've been round a roundabout (a few times) in your car with you too. hehe

Makes me glad my "little" 280i only has "sufficient" power and it not interested in this drifting lark.

It's still more fun to drive than any other car I've driven, including ones with more power.

I'm definately one of the "non smoking" brigade.

It seems it's a way of displaying you have "money to burn" (literally in the case of replacing the tyres!) and I'm sure some have more money than sense TBH, but each to their own.

Leave it to the "skyline" boys in my opinion, it does look like it takes a level of skill to get it "just right" though.
