First registered on 21st March 1980, must be one of the first?

I hope someone saves it. It's a bit of history that nobody seems bothered about frown

Hi

It would be nice to have some more info to see if it can be saved.
The pic doen't show the wheels so can tell if they are the original ones.
If I had some more info I would be happy to save it as its an early car!

As I have the last 350i which is possible the last wedge made, it would be nice to get the first or the oldest surviving wedge, so they can be preservered!

My silver 280 FHC 2+2 is registered 22nd march 1980 and is the 7th FHC off the production line, so it could be an early one!

Hi Hallsie,
Yours is definitely a contender!
Not too sure whether your moustache is as old as the car though, although definitely in keeping with the times wink
Seriously though Stu, yours is a cracking car smile
I've sent "ivacosworth" a message, lets see what comes back from him

Have a great New Year and see you around and about next year

Ok, no problem!
I'll check and see where it went, as well as send you another e-mail too.
Thanks for your message anyway smile
If you could let me know where it is, it would be much appreciated; then I can see if I can get someone to pop around and see it.
Cheers for now

It might be an early car (same colour as my Series 1 as well) but it's wearing a later front bumper and indicators...

TVR must have been busy then as my S1 was Chassis 36 , registered May 1980. I thought the 2+2 came along a lot later? Did you mean 1981?

All of the 2+2s had the series 2 body shell, ill check on the date being 1980/81.

Hi Stu

Slight correction here which might explane things.

The 2+2 body shell was originaly built just for the 2+2.
The factory then decided to stop the S1 FHC shell and build all the FHC using the 2+2 shell.
So the S2 was born.
It was to standardise production as well as make it look better!
So at one time there were two types of FHC bodies in production, S1 and the 2+2 and bumpers were changed to suite!
