Had my Koni's rebuilt by SP Suspension in Lincs, they do a postal service and pleased with the work and advice given by them.

Look on the Koni Uk website for service agents in the Uk

I am having my Maserati shocks refurbished (I really struggled to find someone who would take the challenge) by black art designs.

Ok I haven't got them back yet but they are very friendly and have spm great stuff on their site!

Say matt with the Maserati shocks sent you! smile

I've had a few goes at stripping rear Konis, had to make a special 2-pin spanner to undo the sealing plug/ seal housing... but without much success. From discussions I've seen/ had on the 'net, you need to use a lot of heat to crack the thread and by the time you do, you've toasted the seals, so unless the unit is already scrap, it's probably best left alone. If there's no sign of leakage, the damper rod isn't bent and the damping action still works, there's probably another 20 years left in it biggrin

I'll be masking mine off, blasting and repainting. Not worth trying to powder-coat, the steel is quite thick so if it's lasted this long it'll probably see me out with another coat of paint. More than I can say for some of the offerings by :cough: other manufacturers.

[quote=Wedg1e],
so unless the unit is already scrap, NOPE they are in really good condition
it's probably best left alone.
If there's no sign of leakage,Agaim, no leakage, but they have been sat for 16 years so any sign may be long gone!
the damper rod isn't bent, not bent as far as the eye can see
and the damping action still works, ahhhh, welll, this is the problem, there dont seem to be any action at all which leads me to believe they are siezed!

I might strip the spriing off and see if I can get any life into them, but ive been quoted £35 pers shock plus parts, so potentially up to £65 per side, which in the scheme of things is cheaper than buying new or different mnufacturers shocks!
