Anybody know a part number for any make of Air Filter for the 350i? My local accessory place is struggling to find one without a number to go on. I think the original one was a TVR special but any other brand part number will do.

Incidentally, a while back I had a really useful link to a site which tells you what the equivalent parts are that TVR used... but now I need it its gone from my Favourites. Could someone post the link please.

Cheers everyone.

I´m using a K&N RU-1500 directly on the AFM.

Cheers, that looks like a good one to get. Does it bolt straight onto the AFM using the existing four holes? I've currently got a cylindrical sponge filter, with blue ends, which is held in place with an aluminium disc and four 6" bolts. Is it simply a straight swap?

It´s "clamped" directly to the round 70mm round AFM unit. Takes 2 sec to install/remove. First time undo all the original stuff/pins/plate holding the factory solution/filter. V easy indeed.. The RU-1500 is good for 270hp.

Like this : www.knfilterchargers.com/search/product.aspx?Prod=RC-1070
(though the 1500 filter is oval)

Ahh right, thanks for that.
Luckily I've kept that bit in the garage (somewhere), it wasn't needed for my cylinder filter.

Did you have to alter any settings when you fitted your K&N filter? If not, does it affect anything, spark plugs, etc.

No, just replace the old leaking one with the good feeling that YOU knew how important it is with clean dustfree air, not the previous owner...

I wait 'till the missus goes out, then I put it in the washing machine on a "coloured" cycle, after liberally squirting it with washing-up liquid.

I have washed the old sponge ones and the K&N ones this way, and they come out spotless. THe mesh on the old sponge one does start to rust slightly after a few washes though.

To dry it, just fit it then go for a drive.
