Calling Mikeb.....calling Mikeb
Discussion
This afternoon, after much deliberation and a complete night with no sleep turning the idea over in my head - I have sold my 350i
It hasen't sunk in exactly what I have done yet but I went up to the garage to clear up a few bits and it was really strange to see the garage empty.
We are selling up the flat where we used to live where I kept the car (it has a very secure garage) and I have applied for building permission to build a garage in my new/old house - which apparently takes ages.
This very nice chap called Wyn that I met up with (a genuine wedge enthusiast) mentioned that he was in the market for a 350i and the old mind then gets going. One thing led to another and he bought it today.
So I am going to get the new garage sorted and save a bit more money and see whats about TVR-wise to replace the 350i. The odd thing is that it was a sort of spur of the moment thing and i didn't really want to sell it. The car is the best it has ever been as i have been doing a lot of work on it over the past few years (springs, bushes, brakes etc) and it has never let me down once.
I spent the last few days convincing myself it was the right thing to do. The net result is that I sit here writing this with no TVR!.
When the deal was done and Wyn drove the car away through my village, I lingered outside my house until the last echo of the exhaust note died away as he sped home and I literally had a tear in my eye. I have been in a mood all afternoon (according to my missus)
I had a good chat with Wyn prior to the sale and I can only take solice in the fact that my baby will be looked after. He seems a really top bloke and as he said to me during the day 'owning a 350i is a dream come true'.
If you see him blasting about at any TVR meetings in a 1989 Mica blue 350i then please make him welcome.
As for me, I intend to keep the Wedgepages going and at some point in the not to near future I will be looking for another TVR.

Mike, thanks for that post. It was a pleasure to meet you and the missus. Yes it is a dream come true and she will be totally cherished. See you soon, hopefully, sureley! in a bigger badder one.
Many Regards
Wyn
Welcome to Wedgeing Wyn. Good to have another Taf on board. I'm sure you will enjoy the new car as much as Mike did. You will find a wealth of help and knowledge from the guys on here and the Wedgepages in general.
PS checked out the web link on your profile
...i will always be your friend and will never argue with you
You guys are great. If only we all lived closer together we could all go out for a right good old drink up and natter, party over at marshall's House in the US anybody??
In retrospect, I think that I must be going through a reverse mid life crisis, whereby I have had the AC/DC rock and roll, rolling thunder, scruff of the neck, guns of Navorone Wedge and now in a moment of weakness I find myself thinking about a Kajagoogoo Chimaera!
We all went out for a blast the other day and I was following this guy in his 4.5L Kajagoogoo and to be honest we were going some and I did notice that he started to pull away quite significantly (I did think of asking Elaine to get out at one point but didn't for fear of a clout!) anyway It started to make me think that perhaps I need a newer, bigger toy.
And yes, 'eagle eye' action man Jeff did catch me sitting in one trying it on for size, you guys don't miss a trick. What did make me laugh however was after the run this guy got out of his Chim and strolled over to me and said that all during the run all he could hear was me!
Perhaps the solution for me is to just get a bigger Wedge??. I was talking to the guy who was selling his Chimaera and he did mention to me that there would be plenty of room to get in my golf clubs in the boot! - prat (no offence to people who play golf).
Anyhow who knows, early days yet what I need is a go in somebody's 450 or SEAC to put me back on the straight and narrow.

.bought the Chimp first ( and oooooh do some owners get upset if you call them that !!!!!).... then we stepped over to the DARK SIDE
Great car loved it to bits , 46k in two years .....but,
How many times have you seen the "Wimp in the Chimp" with the roof on in blazing sunshine ?
How many times do you see a Wedge with the lid on ?
There will be a video out in November that will show an ACT / MA chipped 5ltr Chimp can not get away from a SEAC ..........so get hunting for the Sausage Egg And Chips , maybe Sheffield if the Scandinavian connection works out
