Agree Adam, Bit on the pricey side but drop a line and you never know. Like everything for sale. The seller wants top dollar but in reality it is worth want someone wants to pay.

Yeah - it's just down the road from me. But I already have a spare "in stock" that I picked up much cheaper so I'll leave this one for Mr Gunmetal...

Simon - are you still looking for that Eaton? I also have an M83 on the shelf, in good nick.

Presumably that price includes the carbs and inlet manifold...which wouldn't be needed on a Wedge.

I always wonder why people take stuff off if it's that good. scratchchin

How strange - I looked for that post but couldn't find it, so I searched my old emails and came up with the other (wrong again) type!

So yes, it's an M90. Not used it myself, I was thinking about supercharging the 350i but then the 400SX came up and the rest is history.

Hi Adam,

Googled M83 and your thread was 2nd from the top, I'm only toying with the idea but an Eaton mounted in the V seems like a good plan....

You could probably use a big carb manifold e.g. an edelbrock or offenhauser, or use an old SDi manifolds and cut off the SU mounting area. Then make up an adapter plate out of aluminium plate so you can bolt the supercharger down. The plate will have to be quite sturdy to take the weight, vibration and torque from the blower.

The main difficulty I forsee is getting the air distribution even enough to all 8 cylinders so you get an even mixture. With the supercharger outlet mounted so close to the manifold the air is likely to be turbulent. You might add some baffles into the adapter plate, and/or maybe a sheet of honeycomb alloy, to make the flow laminar and even.

The Eaton was certainly designed to work in this position though:

The other question is will the nose stick out far enough so the pulley is over the front of the engine, but I'm sure that can be solved (even if you have to bolt another pulley onto the existing one - actually this might be a better idea 'cos you can then use a toothed belt and pulley - much better for traction.)

I did ask if he would except an offer as a grand is too pricy without bottom Lilly, didn't budge so best of luck to him as it needs to be in A1 condition for that price .................

Bottom Pully isnt to expensive to have made up, mine cost £100 and that included the billet alloy, milling, drilling and balancing.

I quiet like the idea of the coil packs next to the sump.. not that I have any room there as mine is filled with exhaust headers.

Mounting my 2 coil packs - one on each inner wing.
