Parts you could find easly on F-bay?
Discussion
Hi
It's four or five years ago when I satrted to put together the parts I needed for the resto off num 1.
I found most of what I required of F-bay and most of the parts were the same as motor-factors but usualy a lot cheaper!
Now five years later I have a three project on the go and the amount of parts avaliable on f-bay is poor. These are basic parts, wheel beearing, front (rears do occasionaly come up!) Basic original shocks, Bushes etc. Which means we have to pay prices from dealers etc!

I've just got some bits from here. Front upper wishbone bushes £6.95 each. Which I thought was ok. Fast delivery as well. They have a whole section for MK3-5 Cortinas.

Quite true, mine was rebuilt in 94/95 (before Ebay) everything was main dealer, and to compound issues the factory wouldn't sell direct then. I was lucky a pal was in the motor trade and arranged a discount at the local TVR dealer, even though they were a new dealer they were 100% helpful and keen. It's four or five years ago when I satrted to put together the parts I needed for the resto off num 1.

As you say the biggest problem with 'most' of the parts on Ebay, they are either standard service/consumables or OE TVR parts in no better condition than the part your trying to replace. I say most as there are some great items on Ebay, but as there are no so many items listed under TVR you need to refine your searches from the car(s) the parts originated from. The Tickford mirror for example.
Good luck with the projects, I really would love another, shame I have not either the time or space, a 3000M turbo with taz turbo junior would be super cool.
