Has anyone used these? They are purported to be an equivalent filter to use on the V8 Range Rover. I usually use Fram and these ones arrived, they are a bit shorter than the Fram ones so I'm wondering if they flow oil just as well....

It'll be better than the Fram!

That part is a bit worrying - sounds like they may not have the non-return valve. The reference number on the Coopers filter that I have is Z7.

What's that do - prevent oil draining out when the engine is turned off?

I have an old Fram I might cut open to see what's in there....

Incidentally the Coopers part number is actually Z1159. Which might be better...

Yes.

Not a bad idea. I'm not an expert on part numbers - I just read the number on the box in my garage so it may well be out of date.

I used one on mine last year. After 2,500 miles the engine hadn't died, so I assume they're OK to use .

Cheers, did you notice after you started the car that the delay before the oil pressure came up was any longer?

Sometimes mine takes quite a few seconds anyway, I reckon the non-return valve may not be foolproof.

Anyway at 3 quid a pop these filters are much cheaper.

It did slightly. But I'd also gone from using Mobil 1 pissy oil, to Castrol GTX mans oil .
