400 clutch master and slave cylinders
Discussion
Looks like the slave cylinder has failed during the winter lay up. Checking the sludge in the bottom of the master I figure it makes since to replace both. The question is the pipe looks like 7/16 and all the master cylinders with the same part number are 3/8. It's a Girling 64676310 .70, the slave is Lockheed 99364c. Does anyone know of replacements of the correct bore?
Also I was thinking of a new flexible braided line to connect them up. Is this a worth while job? Has anyone had one made up?

I am having the same problem on my 290 S2. If the Wedge and the 290 S2 share the same master and slave cylinders then this is the information I have been given.
The early Morris Marina/Triumph cylinders fit straight on with no modifications, but the later Land Rover cylinders are the same but require either new pipe end fittings or an adaptor.

When fitting the new slave to the box I got that horrible sinking feeling when you realise that the bolt is just turning! I Managed To Fit A HeliCoil Without Removing The sump. It Was On The Bottom Bolt, Top Would Have Been Ok. There Is No Room To Fit A Drill In Despite My Various Chucks.
What I Did Was File The End Of The Drill Bit Square To Accept A Socket.Using An Extension Bar And Ratchet I Drilled It Out No Problem. Used The Same Process With The Tap And Fitted The Coil. It Torqued Up Perfect ,Job Done.
Fitted A New Master And Got A Stainless Braided Hose Made Which Looks More Sports Car Than Steam Engine ! Clutch Is Lovely Now, Much Smoother. On Seeing The Crud In Both The Original Slave And Master It's Not Surprising.
