BBWF2013 Uncertainty...
Discussion
Hi Peeps..As im helping with some of the components of this years BBWF..i:e Organizing the friday night scoff and manning the control point..(With a 9mm uzi so have your papers ready)..It has been said that the main features of the event may have to be cancelled due to lack of interest...The rolling road..The traders..The disco and the saturday night munch..Without these it will be just an ordinary expensive weekend away..Especially with hotel food and room prices as per the norm!..A lot of effort is going into it to try to make it an enjoyable event..I for one really look forward to it and thoroughly enjoy it..Being part of a fraternity of like minded people who come together to eat..Drink and be merry is a real buzz..I know it is still early in the year to be getting excited but we need to show a bit more enthusiasm to those who take the time to organise it..So please put your name down for the "Who's coming to BBWF"..The rolling road..The friday night scoff and the saturday evening buffet and lets make another BBWF a success..Also there is a need for a conclusive way to award the "Wedge personality of the year award" and any ideas for things to do will be a bonus..Thanks for taking the time to read this...Cheers...Ziga

Hi Mark
I do like people who volunteer for jobs,
Yes you are helping with the Pub Fri night. (How's that coming along?)
But that it mate!
I have already sorted out the welcome point!
If you want to do something on the day I will find you another job!
Now with regard to your comments:
The Rolling Road, yes unless numbers get to at least 12 people committing to the Rolling Road then I will have to cancel as we have contracted to cover his costs if he doesn't get the numbers on the road to cover them. (Otherwise he will not come.)
The Banquet is slightly different.
We pay a deposit in advance to secure the booking, then we pay the balance on the day for the numbers/food ordered.
I can reduce the amount the week before the event to cover the numbers who have paid but below a certain number it doesn't make it worth while for the caterer so we have to either cancel and have no food and lose the deposit. Or we pay the balance for the mininum people.
That way we get feed (those who want to be.)
But have a lot more food than even you can eat mate!
Also if people aren't eating then we don't need the Disco and Entertainer to entertain people. Plus Traders can see from the forum approxamate numbers of people attending and they will not come if there are not to many people committing them selves to come!
So please people don't leave it to the last moment!
Andy

Hi
As Mark says we have to find a more even way of deciding on the "Wedge Personality of the Year"
Last year the system put into place was the best we could think of in the short time we had available.
Well this year we do have a little longer.
Giving it some thought and following on from an idea from Adam Q.
I purpose this system which will cover people who can't attend the fest, and also for those who do attend the fest and don't use this Forum, but are "Wedge" owners/enthusiast.
The nomination system will still stay the same, but it will be posted up on the TVRCC "Wedge" Forum as well!
The voting system will still have the vote by e-mail to a nominated person, which covers the people who can't attend the fest and will also be posted on the TVRCC Forum.
The addition to the system will be people who attend on the day will be given a voting paper to complete if they wish and these votes will be added to the e-mailed vote (Off course cross checked so we don't have an duplication.)
This system I believe is a fair system which gives everybody the opportunity to vote should they wish to!

Andy, I heartily concur with yours and Adam's thoughts and suggestions.
Sounds very fair to me, especially for all of our compadres off of here who can't make it to the fest for one reason or another.
Cheers Andy

I would also help with the organising if I wasn't so far away - and can only stay the 1 night.

Angola.......Dix
....Take care mate i was over there when the Togo team was attacked just down the road from where i was staying....
The things we do eh??? Feel as though we play our part in getting the black stuff out of the ground to keep our fine beasts on the road.
Rob
Andy, Mark. Although i will be there for both friday and saturday and getting involved in the tug of war i will have my daughter with me which means i have to arrange other things for meal times. ( due to her age ) I will however be able to join in the drinking on the saturday night. This is a great event and it does need support for it to work and i would encourage all to participate.
