Hi All
I had a go at my light podcast again last night. The drivers side it still really slamming down when turned off. So I stripped them both out and cleaned all the linkages and joints. One of the rose? Joints on the drivers side was very stiff so hopefully that will help.
When I reassembled the passenger side I found it hard to get the panel gap even. The pod seems to sit evenly spaced at the fixings but wont maintain the spacing at the front of the pod compared to body? Big cap on one side small gap other. I didn't bother refitting the drivers side at this time.
Any ideas? The length of the linkage has not been changed (Apart from maybe slightly where the mech attaches to the motor as there is a small amount of adjustment there)
The mounting rubber washers are very perished as well. What are using for replacements?
Cheers Karl.

If the pods are squiffy then there are usually 2 reasons:
The swivel bolt holes are worn or excessively loose, gone oval or the lift arm adjustment has been fiddled with
or
The Blackpool engineering state of the art solution for the pod alignment has moved.... i.e. the piece of hose pipe!
There is no set answer to this apart from adjusting the hose pipe fitting under the front, I did mine so it was correct when down, nice and flush then check that the light pod is fully up when on. Once correct then do not forget to lock wire the hinge bolts as they like to come undone. I used some Halfords best rubber grommets on my hinges with a bit of white silicone grease to taste.... jobs a good un!

Adding to what chris has said i found that rather than trying to bend the "L" shape piece of specially engineered hose holder its easier to gauge the levelling of the pod with the size of the piece of hose..I think the piece i used was around 20-25mm OD..(I knew i should of measured it for future ref)..Ziga
Sorted
Alignment as good as its going to get but better than it was. The slamming action was down to a slightly stiff rose joint. Freed it up and they are lovely and smooth now. Which is good as I'm amazed the bulb is still intact after the slamming action that was there.
The left hand fixing on the drivers side pod still seems to be to low in the body though. Looks like it should be 3-4mm higher up inside the pod mount? There's no play at all in the mounting holes.
Cheers Karl
