HI , has anyone used one of those kits you can buy off fleabay. What are they like. Or if there are any platers amongst us can you suggest a DIY kit that I might be able to put together myself. A heavy duty/semi pro set-up maybe. What chemicals are used as I might be able to get hold of them myself. A guide and safety instructions also ................cheers Mark

It's not rocket science! Get some old zinc chloride batteries and mash them up in a salt solution.

Stick in the piece to be plated connected to a battery charger -ve.

Stick a few more zinc chloride battery shells connected to battery +ve.

I would do this outside so you don't get a buildup of hydrogen (the charger can be inside though).
