I'm about 10 miles from Dix and it's cold enough here to freeze the spheroidal appendages off a non-ferrous simian.

Yes; just got back from a trip to Vegas (cold) & Dallas (colder) to home, an acceptable 22 degrees.

Chez Quantrill (just see what I'm up to in the "Garage this Weekend" thread...)

I used to use Offord who were reasonable up to the point where I had an £800 service - at that point I started doing it all myself. They would be OK as long as you agree the price up front!

Most times you get the odd fault that takes an hour or two to fix - so it's less hassle in the long run to do it yourself.

Good plan. Just not my forte. spin
At the moment Niggles is having an annual service, exhaust welding, change of engine, cam, clutch, etc, chassis bits sorted. Think I will stick to the day job!
I agree that there are bits I could do myself (I changed a Mini clutch and gearbox when I was a yoof), and I do jobs like changing headlight bulbs, fixing mouse-chewed wiring etc, but I do tend to leave the technical bits to the experts, and mine is a good one and not prone to generating big bills.

This weather is getting silly - blue sky and sunshine when I left this morning and snow blizzard on my return journey - my son said at least it's not raining.....
