Well I made a lovely job of re-burr walnut verniering the centre console on my car ( on the fourth attempt anyway) only to crack the bl@@dy thing when I reassembled it!

I think this has been posted before but after watching Wheeler dealers I gave theses guys a call. They have said about 100 quid for all three panels! Now that sounds good value to me.

What do you all think they have loads of different shades of burr effect. The one in the gallery photos is a bit light for me but it think I'm going to give one of the darker ones a go.

There was a guy on here (Hotty) who had a batch of dash, center console and glove boxes made sometime ago from a plastic sheet material (about 3/4mm thick). I had a set for the 400se i had at the time and was very please as there was little chance of them cracking like the originals did - and no finishing required. I have done a little searching on the web and i reckon the material was 'Formica' Mahogany Burl, Formica part number F2559 (if you google it, a very nice dark brown in the flesh but not in all the pictures). From initial enguiries this shade may have been discontinued but there is a lighter alternative F1118, Amber Burl which is about £80 for a 8' X 4' sheet ?
