After several months of collecting dust in the garage, (lack of time and money) the old Tiv is back and running and road legal (MOT passed today).
Last Autumn I posted a problem about non starting following a replacement dizzy.
The early 350's have a large remote amp fitted under the coil with a variety of wires (nearly all the same colour). The newer distributors have the amp fitted to the side and a much smaller affair with only two wires + and -.
Anyway cutting a long story short, had to call in help (know your limits)and now got it running nicely, just re-timed it tonight having borrowed a timing strobe light.
I'm clearly not an expert but if anyone is fitting a newer type distributor to one of the older cars, I'd be more than happy to offer advice on my experiences.
Why did TVR use only black and white wires ?
Cheers
