new to the Wedge world
Discussion
Hi all,
Got my first Wedge the other day. Its a 1983 Tasmin 350i.It needs a lot doing as it was laid up for 3yrs. All brakes were seized, non starter otherwise OK. Over the past few weeks I have managed to strip it down to the chassis, which is in excellent nick. I have heard all the horror stories of rotten sill plates etc but mine are solid. There is no rust anywhere. The rears were seized so I decided to drop the axle, got hold of recon units and a new cable, ready to fit. Making my way towards the front of the car from underneath as a matter of course.
Parts I need:- rear shocks, boot release, seat belts,.......second hand if poss as budget is tight!
anybody got anything

Have a word with Tasmania i think that he had a load of Wedge bits on the Pistonheads classifieds for sale.
Don't know if he got anything left. Or Bell Hill garage TVR breakers. Talking to them at Pride & Passion today in cardiff and they reckon that they often have Wedge bits for sale.

Welcome ugly; I agree with SS about your name. For your front brakes you could use Classicar www.classicbrakes.co.uk/ for a full refurb. They did mine for about £90 to inc cleaning, new SS pistons, new seals and new coating. The dampers were Armstrong but I doubt whether you'll find any now. Konis can be rebuilt. Be wary of most second hand dampers - the new ones don't last that long, neither do the springs but at least they're cheap. Do a search on seat belts, there was a thread two or three months ago. Good luck. J
