Speedo Gizmo on a 350se
Discussion
It'll be a hotwire then? It's used to tell the ECU whether the car is actually moving, I think it's used partly for idle stabilisation.
On my car it feeds speed pulses to the cruise control instead of the electronic pulse generator that cruise-equipped SD1s had in the gearbox, because I still need a cable to drive the speedo.

Do you have a part number on it? This is the puppy I have been looking for after my Griff 500 hot wire transplant. As Ian says its used for motion detection and I have had to put a resistor across mine to fool the ECU into thinking the car is moving!
Any details of numbers or pictures would be appreciated

Mine's made by Jaeger; as far as I recall it's just a reed switch and a spinning magnet!Any details of numbers or pictures would be appreciated
