Looked like a nice example - all shiney and classic looking - complete with the original Clubman - driven by a young man so deffo not the original owner ;^)

It's going past cars like this that put the Wedge in perspective as a performance car.

Gave the young chap a smile and thumbs up on the way past as we both share the "G" plate.

That's the interesting thing about driving now, how the young can't afford to drive modern cars, it certainly has opened up the retro rides. My mate's boy drives and old skool mini and I came across a lad that was driving a Capri, he had obviously put some effort into, it had more than 3 colours in the panels of the body, but he was proud and mobile, its all good. sonar

Ran into two young lads at eurotunnel (french side) on the way back from le mans driving Hillman Imps.

Race looking accessories stuff that looked good (obviously loved they're cars).

One of the lads had lost his windscreen mid trip. So they had built a cardboard wind deflector which had held up all the way back.
They were from Crewe or somewhere so still had a shed load of driving to do.

I admired them so much....young lads driving retro cars....to Le mans and the wits to get back home after a major mishap. Great lads

Well,

a) That's how I started off, driving a Rover P4 which is older than me ;^)
b) I have some 20ish-year-old friends with 80's Dollies and one's getting a stfire.

So I know where you're coming from....

Agree there. Unless you have a tone of money in the bank young people just cant afford the car, running costs and the dreaded insurance.
I also think cars have lost there way, 80s and 90s saw lots of GTIs, Turbos etc.
Old MK1 golf GTI's, Renault 5 Turbos, Peugeot 205 GTI and one of my favorites, Austin Montego Turbo.
All seem to have bags of character which cars are lacking at this time.

My first performannce car was a Silver MK1 Golf, still a great calssic!
