The inside of the mirror has decided it no longer likes its jacket and has decided to come out to see the world !!
The electrics still work and the fit is quite good -
Does anyone have any shots of how it should look ?
Are the little black brackets in the opposite corners all that hold it together with a screw into each ?
It looks like that the black brackets were possibly part of a square frame but not sure so any thoughts - advice - pictures appreciates so I can put it back together .

This is just a guess by looking at your pictures, as I've never done this job before.
I think the two angled pieces were glued to the front end case at the rear in either corner, and a screw going in from the front to the back case in each corner held the two together.
I am sure someone who has done this job before will answer your question soon.

Hi TY
Those little location pices are normaly just a bit of filler which had been put into the rear out surround of the light allowed to harden then had a hole drilled in them to take the screw! (Don't you just love how TVRs were put together)
You can just unscrew the fittings from the front cover and the re stick them into the back surround or just make some new ones the same way TVR did!

On my '86, there is a rectangular metal plate/bracket that is slightly wider that the width of the jacket (it had to be 'wedged' in which was hard to do w/o scraping the paint on the inner lip of the jacket) and once in place, it presses against the sides of the jacket. There is also a screw that screws up from/though the bottom (but not into the actual bracket) to act like a stop. (Don't have a picture.)
Obviously not the same setup you have. Wonder if yours was an later improvement or a PO change. It looks like the screws bolt through from the face. Grady

Hi Andy
I think you are right as they don't look particularly well finished !!!
I was going to look at the other side but couldn't squeeze down the other side ( too many pies ! )

Ill see if the screws which have just disappeared have done any damage as if not may be able to just pop new ones in fingers crossed
