Hi

Well things change and life goes on as I know very well following last year etc!

But I have learnt something today which has been an eye opener and it has made my whole year so far!

Now most of your know a bit of TVR history take this pic below!

This is a famous pic of the yellow beast and the people who were the brains behind it!

L to R Dave Bently, Chris Schirle, John Ravenscroft, and the boss Peter Wheeler!

Chris Schirle you know as the man behind the SEAC, John Ravescroft, Engine man, and Peter Wheeler well least said the genius behind the later wedges and later cars!
Then there Dave Bently, he was the mechanic who built the car with Chris, He the long haired mechanic you see on the y-tube on the Yellow beast when she is in the pits at Olton park. He also helped Oliver Winterbottom with the construction with the early Tasmin and later in his time at TVR was responsable for building the AJPV8 racing engine!

Well today this is Dave Bently!

Yes today he walked around the Rushden site and was supprised to see the display and at the back his baby! The last time he saw her was at the Macau race (Also on Y-tube.)
What a supprise for me to.

To meet the man who built my car plus he now lives in Rushden some 25 miles from were the car now lives!

I spent the next hour or so chatting about the car and his life at TVR.

I asked the question would he come to the Fest and he wants to but he has another thing on that weekend, but he going to see if he can change that!

Well that has brought a even greater end to a great weekend!

He could not beleive it nore could I he has changed so much from the pics and vidios.

Mind you it was 26/27 years ago!

Some of the stories he told sounded typical TVR!

The years go too quick for all of us mate..At least he has been immortalised when he was young and full of enthusiasm..And as a bonus is also a massive part of hand-built British sportscar history..clap

Amazing - I've always wondered what happened to him and the other mechanic - Dave
