Just strayed across this. I can't justify the spend at the minute, but I'm so tempted it looks an absolute beauty. Is this car known to anyone?

Looks nice but no mot and at the top end for a 280.
I will pass on this one, that 350 that someone else posted looks more tempting to me, but I wont be buying that either, I will hopefully be getting a 280 with a full mot for a lot less than this one in the near future.

Hi mate..TBH...That is a fair price for a sorted 280i..This one should'nt need anything major!....Infact this car belongs to a very nice chap who i met at BBWF2011..He won concourse and i won rat-car 2nd place..It is a very nice wedge and a good price....Ziga

It looks a stunner in the photos. Can't imagine it's any different in the flesh. I think if it's as good as it looks it's a very fare price. As we all know you can buy a cheap one that will cost you a lot of beer tokens to get sorted. I bought an expensive one and have still invested an additional 1500 quid or so since Chrimbo!

The lack of MOT wouldn't worry me in the slightest pending a look obviously.

I think my Wife's Midgets has just been adopted by a Friend if I had a few more tokens I'd be haing a look at this. Never fancied the V6 version but I can't stop looking at the pics.

I love my 280..yes i have hankered after a v8 but mine is louder..Older and soon to be faster than most 350's..I love the classic looks of the earlier wedge's..But thats my preference..And after an interesting first meeting with Oliver winterbottom at BBWF 2012 he assured me the 200's - 280's were the real wedges..That was his word's..He said "Not like those V8 thingies"..laugh..He really is a top bloke and i'm really looking forward to meeting him again at this year's fest..And to get my glovebox signed...rage...hehe

I should clarify a bit, I have nothing at all against this car, it is a lovely looking wedge but I am probably going to buy that wedge that pk500 acquired in his deal to get the e-type for a fair bit less than that one is going for.
It is one owner from new (a lady bought it for her 60th and kept it until she died at 90!) it had approx 2k spent on it last year for the mot,the chassis looks good, and now he has made some more door cards the only downside to the car is some peeling lacquer on the bonnet and wings, but I am quite happy to prep it for my mate who has a bodyshop to paint.
I am still not 100% sure on getting an auto but the rest of the car looks really good.

Im only messing..Buy what you can afford and enjoy it..The only thing i would advise against is counting up how much you spend on them..Even when they are sorted..biggrin

Me to the OH "It isnt costing me much at all love "

Part of me thinks I should get a 5 speed fitted,
Part of me thinks I should get a BOB fitted (24v cossie) even if it goes in with its 4 speed auto
And part of me just thinks I should enjoy it as it is apart from (in the words of my youngest)loudering it up a bit

Edited so that it doesnt look like I am calling ziga love

Hi Mark

Don't think he one the concourse in 2011 unless its a 350i and his name is Crawford!

But its a good car!

It should not have a problem getting an MOT, yes its a top price but good cars should be at that price at least. To may have gone for silly low money yet again this year, good for the buyers but not for us owners who have put so much into our cars!

We need to stop giving the cars away at silly prices, hold out for a better price if you have to sell!

How much is an mot in England now a days? i know its like how long is a "piece of sting" if its riddled with problems? but it looks sharp and very nice looking car ! the owner should put an mot on it as that seems so scare people away without one. ....so what is the cost to get it tested ?we have a similar deal in this state once a year called an(inspection) same st! its $29 bucks but im pretty sure when you buy a used car they make the new owners have it re-inspected .....
I am going to throw this out here ' i bet in 10 years wedge prices would have closed to doubled from todays market ....they are going to be a good investments....;)

I've been hearing the one about wedges becoming valuable for as long as I've had TVRs... so that'll be about 17 years then. All they've done, for the most part, is to get cheaper.

I agree, bought my 350i in 1997 when the cheapest running/mot'd soft top V8 was about £6k. I paid £3.5k for it as it had some major issues and the non mechanically minded owner was fed up trying to get them resolved - he just wanted rid.

I think the test itself is about £40 so it seems daft to me not to do it unless you think there is something expensive it will fail on, which always makes it look a bit suspicious to me. I dont know this car or its owner and it may well be kosher but the lack of mot just makes it look a bit dodgy.
