My clock decided to pack in some months ago and just decided to have a look at it.there is a 5amp fuse when it says it should be 3amp. i have managed to get a spare clock to try and this dosent work either. so could it be the fuse and should it be 3 amp or something else or have i got 2 clocks that dont work?

No..Its a complete re-wire when that happens mate..The clock is a main breaker for loom failure!....................................(Long pause).....
...Only messing...It sounds like a fuse..Was the spare clock working before you had it?....Its good to put the correct fuse in but maybe someone somwhere along the line might of over rated it so it doesnt keep blowing..Which might mean a short somewhere....ZigaIf you've changed the clock I suppose you know all the terminals on the back are ok, mine packed up then I pulled it to bits stuck a spring inside it had a little bit of messing and its worked ever since but the terminals on the back can work loose.
If you've got a multi meter you can check for woltage!

A couple of things... the clock is in effect wired directly across the battery terminals so if you accidentally connect the battery backwards the clock will go pop - it has no protection circuitry inside.
Ask me how I know
The clock is based around a particular dedicated IC that has been unavailable for some years so you can't even repair them that way.
Whip it out, poke 12v in from a known good power supply, if it doesn't tick, it's Donald*

Having discovered that the interior lights did not work and following one of the replies i set about the fuses to discover after some time and bad words that the fuses were wrong. i had a 5 amp were i should have had a 10 amp, replaced with correct and clock worked also i checked the spare and that works also. so one to go on fleabay!
Some additional equipment (stereo power amps, say) powered from the clock fuse? For example on my car the cruise control is fed from the same fuse as the boot lock: I figured there wouldn't be that many occasions when I'd want to open the door and press the boot release whilst the cruise was on

Sorted! At last, turned out one of the wires feeding courtesy lights was shorting. I dont use them so just pulled out bulbs and hey presto no probs with clock.
I said it was probably a wiring issue, maston (known to some as Mr Fiddle) well done
Right, I'm now going to completely rewire my wedge as I am now an expert.......Err......note to self.......better not
