Well my 500i decals have arrived in the correct format and size.

So any experts out there in terms of removal of the old ones and fitting the new ones...

TIA

Chris

Not sure if the factory would have had any special method of adhering the decals. I have always applied warmth using a hairdryer and then got under decals with a sharpish but 'non paint damaging' implement.

Cheers

Chris,

I watched the video. In my opinion he used far too much liquid. There is also no need to use a fancy application liquid. Just get an empty spray bottle, use water with a few drops of detergent (shampoo is good) and you will be able to adjust the decal.

I suggest you use painter's tape to get the alignment, with a mark corresponding to some point on the decal. I put the painter's tape about 1/8th inch below here you want the decal to go. If the decal doesn't have something to line up, you can use several pieces of tape.

Try to get a squeegee from the decal supplier; you can use a credit card, but there is a small chance you will damage the vinyl.

As the video says, you must get rid of the bubbles. As a last resort you can prick the bubble with a needle and smooth it over.

Wilf.

Well had a half day today so in between showers bit the bullet and set about the decal change job!

Little bit of heat from the heat gun and the old ones came off no problem. Good clean of the area then measure twice and fit voila all done and even if I say so myself........!

then ....

Hello!

That looks great!
My car is rather anonymous at the moment and it just does not look right without decals.
Where did you get them from?

Thanks
Henning

Thanks a lot!

I am a little afraid my decals might not look as impressive though...
It's just the numbers: 500!
I like the idea.

best regards
Henning
