One week and a day before we are due to head to le mans and the new roof and interior retrim has hit a bit of a snag

Whilst the carpets are up the chaps have noticed rusty seat belt mounts which when investigated means I need new plates welded under the car and this could mean we wont be ready for the trip frown

I suppose being safe as if I crashed the belts could have just come away from the floor is a good thing but I am just gutted as was so looking forward to taking the old girl again as the last trip was in 2010 !!

This could be a third trip in "bluebell" the z3 I bought two years ago just three days before le mans as a last minute replacement as the new engine wasn't quite ready !

One day I will learn and do all the work in the winter ..........

There is still a chance so fingers crossed and Ill call D & C for an update tomorrow ....

Inboard or outboard? Inboard could be a serious pain to fix, there's next to no access for a welding torch even with the prop and exhaust removed (I know, mine's in bits at the momoent) so you'd be looking at either body-off or cutting a chunk out of the cabin floor to gain access.
The outboard one isn't so bad; however if the plate is that rotten you might want to pray that the sill tubes aren't Kerry Packered (biggrin) as well.

I hope mine arent as much of a pita as yours, the bolt the stalk attaches to looks well rusted on mine (hence the bodge repair I guess)
