Speaking with Trickie Dickie yesterday, he informs me that he has heard that MX5 seats would fit in my 350i. I was just wondering if this is true and if so what work needs to be done?
Any help. or the name of any one who can re-trim in the Bradford area.

Whats up with your original ones?

I have heard the same about the mx5 seats, allegedly the bolts on the mx5 seats almost fit through the same holes I think it is the rearmost holes need drilling a bit bigger., there is also someone in here that has put rx8 seats in theirs, which was doable but involved a LOT of drilling out of rivets.

I have Nissan NSX seats in mine...They do have a rail welded on them though to make fit..MGTF seats fit also as i have seen them in a wedge although not too sure about the fixings..I think griff seats fit also..If you go for a re-trim i believe the bottom bolsters are available but not the backs..There was a guy on the PH classifieds a while back selling them...Hope this helps...Ziga

And?
He hasn't got in touch so I guess he hasn't looked at it yet.
Have you got a number for Bob Stott?

They are looking very tired, I had them repaired "painted" about 5 years ago they looked ok but didn't last.
I remember then being quoted £400/500 to have them retrimed, so I've seen some nice MX5 (like new) leather seats for £425 so might be tempted.

I saw a fair few sets of mx5 seats for roughly a ton on ebay, but by the time you have had them covered to match your interior wouldnt it be easier/cheaper to get your originals refurbished/recovered

I have Alph seats in mine,, bit of squeeze, door handle pushes against em a bit, but IMHO
I think they look great. Bit of bracketing and bdising.
But worth it
