Well it beggers belief but the old fella has just got his 22nd mot certificate, thoughts were that the front bushes are ok but there is a little bit of knock in the rack by holding a wheel then trying to gently rock the steering at the steering wheel there's a small amount of knock or play either in the gears or control arms, any way went for a blast this evening before tucking up in the garage, want to try and afford some money and time with a mapper before bbwf to improve performance and perhaps reduce the petrol bill!!!
Night all.

Just a thought but have a good look at the steering column U/J's they get forgotten in terms of servicing and also the bulkhead bearing / bush before you start thinking more expensive issues!

Hi mate..Well done on the MOT..I agree with chris, Check for play in the column UJ's..I think up and down movement will indicate bulkhead bush wear and in and out or if you turn the steering to full lock and it feels like it slips an inch after it reaches full lock will indicate worn steering UJ's..cheers...Ziga
