Yep but you will not find one from Ford as they are not made anymore and apparently there is not any stock in the UK. If you look on the S Forum there is a few threads on this issue fella. Is this linked to your earlier problem as I cannot see why this would cause a rough running problem??

In case it helps any, as far as I know all the Ford cables of the era have the same ends and fittings, from Escort,Cortina,Capri,Granada. it's just the length that differs.

Also, if youre handy, it is actually possible to get the cable apart and do a home fix up using bicycle brake cable, and get screw on nipples from the same bike shop (oo-eer missus).

Not ideal, but OK if you're desperate... Have done that on a kit car build with Ford engine, and it worked just fine.

OK, but you missed the fact that I'm HANDY ANDY for that cable trick....biglaugh

Also, I think that a 2.3 Cortina cable is nearly the same length as the Granada one ??

And the end IS the same as Carby ones, just to clarify, but it's NOT the same as the Electronic Injection ones.

And how would I find one for a LHD car? Probably same ends but much shorter.

It wouldn't surprise me if TVR cut the plastic bracket off the pedal end !!
(or it might even just pull off)

I confirm that the throttle end looks correct...

Just been to check my 280 (1982) and it does NOT have that style end (as Ebay). It has a sort of plastic 'top hat' style end, which fits into a rubber/plastic grommet. I do happen to have a Mk2 Escort cable from my kit car days, and it does have a similar (but not quite the same) pedal end as the wedge. I reckon pdeal end would fit in the wedge, though cable looks too short.

Therefore my post above is wrong - throttle end are the same, but pedal ends are not.

I guess it's probably originally a Cortina or Granada throttle cable then ??

However, it doesn't mean that the Capri cable isn't still useful.....

Hi Frank...Thanks for the pic..The throttle body end looks right but im still unsure what the pedal end looks like...I will have to squeeze myself under there unless anyone has a piccy of a 280i accelerator pedal..I just looked at the drawing of one in the wedge parts manual but its not very descriptive..Cheers...Ziga
