Presumably the European one has fuel injection, as they're calling it a 200i ?

Looks immaculate though...if you can afford it.

I've got no ties whatsoever with the seller, but do understand from the german club forum the garage has a good reputation. Price ? dunno, not in the market for it...........just posting for them who might be interested.......

Do I recall reading something to the effect that TVR were going to (or did) release a sleeved-down Rover V8 in 2L capacity, something to do with Italian tax laws at the time...?

Both the german club site and the sellers site do not give away any details for the engine or capacity/layout (re 'italian' law..........)

I think this is a 'special' one and needs saving, so............
I will be on holiday (well, a TVR rally, really....) for the next two weeks, but if i can be of help for those interested, please PM me

The general consensus is 16. I own 6.25% of the production output!

This is a lesson for those who advocate a 'starter' TVR. Martin Lilley made this as a cheaper TVR but the saving in the cost of the engine was next to nothing compared to the reduction in list price; when you look at the cost of development against numbers sold the economics look even worse. As a footnote it makes the Cosworth turbo conversion easier: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/profile.asp?mem...

Just to put a damper on that joke, there WAS a 2 litre OHC electronic injection engine as fitted to later Granada and Sierra, which could be easily retrofitted, if you're good with wiring that is !!

But if you're going that far, the Cossie is a far better bet...

Odd that the gold one has series 2 bumpers and rear valance. I wonder if it came like that or if someone has fitted them later.

Mine doesn't have a rear valance and there are no holes in the body to suggest it's ever had one.

Evidently it started its life overseas. Hong kong to be exact. May have been ordered that way,. But as you say Roy they are series 2 parts.
