I'm just finishing off this mod - a bit more work to do on the cosmetic side. Once I've run the car up to temp and tested its effectiveness I'll report back on what I have done suffice to say it's a better alternative to shelling out for an alloy tank or a scrappy looking 2nd hand part...

Did you read Martin's (Hatter) post regarding his pipe re-routing for better cooling and forcing all the air to the top of the expansion tank?

I did - but I couldn't work out his pipe routing from his descrpition. I should add though Phil that I'm running a Carb so there's no outlet into the Plenum but the principle of letting the air into the top of the tank is there as you can see...
