I'll be willing to help for 2014, or not as required.
For anyone who's serious about it there's a BBWF bank account available which has a £300 float left over from previous years which is useful to start paying out booking deposits. Plus there's a tug'o'war rope and a gazebo thingy available.
So - let's be positive - what ideas do you all have for a venue, activities during the weekend, and is anyone gonna step up and organise it?
This place is in the middle of some of the best driving roads in the UK. Me & the Taffia could spend the next 12 months reccying the best possible driving route for the mother of all run outs (Ice cream in Aberaeron mid point etc)....

Yes , driven past this very imposing very grand place many a time. Did not realise that there was such a large car park, and the venue for as many a car clubs. Definitely worth a visit one day to reccy the place and a blast route. Oh no what are we saying Wyn , we might be asked to host the 2014 BBWF !!!

...Hooray...We have a winner..
...
..But maybe the answer is that there could be a community of wedgers that organise the BBWF relevant to the area its in...Obviously those who want to help still can but it might be something worth considering..Bit like a BBWF RO...That way we can all get blammed if its shyte...

Both Blackpool and Llandrindod Wells are 250 miles or more and 4 1/2 hours drive away for me, so I can't say I'd be that interested - not every year anyway. Definitely not keen on Blackpool as a place to visit for any reason. But that's just me. I guess the further away the location for potential attendees, the less likely they will come for the main day only, which means they may not come at all. Given that there did seem to be quite a few Saturday-only visitors at EC, this could mean further reduced numbers irrespective of the actual event content.
Not that the chase is THAT far from me (1.5 hours drive roughly) but as I work Saturdays (till 3:30pm) I'd love to see it further south (even for just one year) I'd also (and have said this on a few threads now) like to see more of the "event" on the Sunday (morning?) for those who cannot attend during the day on the Saturday.
One venue that I have seen a large gathering of cars at (in this case Jaguar Enthusiasts Southern Day) is Littlecote near Hungerford which is just down the road from me. Might be too expensive etc ....
Just my 25p worth.....

What about trying a completely different format? Various race tracks hold classic meetings throughout the summer, why not meet up there? lots of other things to do and see Fairground, rally stages classic racing etc. Camping on site and lots of nearby hotels, segregated area for the wedges would be possible, no public liability required, plus maybe in conjunction with the race track owners a lap of honour with the Wedges all on track (no racing mind;)) could be organised
Just a few thoughts.....would Cheshire be beyond reach? Oulton Park have the Gold Cup meeting every August Bank Holiday, how about that?????

Been sitting on the sidelines for some time, but having owned 4 wedges and looking for a great one to keep until I'm unable to drive, I'd look south towards the M4. Why? Over 150 TVR's attended the Neil Garner open day this year despite the freezing cold at the time and there was very little there to see or do!
It is already about as far south as I would be willing to travel, it was 2hrs+ from home.
It isnt a bad location as it is equally far for most wedgers to get to.
Are there any other locations that would have us?
Has anyone suggested the Belfry? big hotel, loads of room, nightclub on site and happy to do corporate type do's (I have been there a couple of times with work)
