Finally managed to fix the dash illumination with 3mm led's. fitting the LED's to the hylon holders was a real PITA, so eventually I tried superglue and it seems to have held.
Fitted the heat and direction of airflow sliders from Mr.Tank. I now have selectable heat in the cabin, and also ran a new length of control wire to the valve under the bonnet.
Armed with a wire cutter, I removed the old stereo wiring and the horrible scotch locks under the dash, ready for the new head unit. Next is to remove the CD Player in the boot and remove / rewire all the speakers using good quality cable back to the Head Unit.
Removed the rest of the dash wood trim too ready for the replacement veneer as well as removing the under bonnet felt that was sagging down. now to sort a replacment

for the interior switch illumination I tried to file down the LED's but I couldnt get them to fit snugly into the nylon holder on the switch. I tried cable ties, but again, this held the LED at the wrong angle.
I found that using superglue to essentially form a plug into the nylon switch back, I was able to set the LED into the glue.
So far they have held, and Ive refitted the dash. If things donot work out, I may have to remove and drill the nylon holders 1mm oversize and try again.

Hi Jason,
Sound like your on a mission....well done.
What about the light conversion, is that still in place? There was talk of you removing it a little while back or have I got that wrong!!!!!
Ahh yes, the pods. I am still toying with building a spare set of pods and putting the standard lights back in it, but for now, im keeping the quad lights, mainly because the light output is 100% better than the originals & now ive sprted out the earth gremlins, they all work as they should Sound like your on a mission....well done.
